About the Nikon 70-200mm F/2.8G
The Nikon 70-200mm F/2.8E has somewhat of a confusing name and here is why. Nikon simply calls this lens the 70-200mm F/2.8E FL ED VR. Yeah, it’s a mouth full so we’re simply just calling it the 70-200 F/2.8E. If you recall, the previous version of the Nikon 70-200 was the Nikon 70-200 F/2.8 G VR II but this new lens isn’t called the as if it were the third version. Yeah, it’s weird, we don’t get it, but this lens is seriously amazing.
The Nikon 70-200mm F/2.8E has definitely improved over the previous version and has brought back the push buttons as were found with the version 1 release of the VR lens. On top of bringing back the focusing buttons, Nikon has also improved the minimal focusing distance from 4.6′ to a staggering 3.6. That’s pretty impressive!
