About the Sigma 24-70mm F/2.8 ART
The Sigma 24-70mm F/2.8 ART is the new age workhorse lens from Sigma. With Canon setting the bar quite high with their 24-70mm V2, Sigma knew they had to release a lens as equal if not better than Canon.
One thing Sigma absolutely nailed right out of the gate was the fact that they offer image stabilization with this lens. Now we know some of you might be wondering why this is such a big deal, but just put yourself in a dark situation when you’re already shooting low light and now you have the added ability to use image stabilization to slow your shutter speed down even more and still capture that amazing image!
The build quality of the Sigma 24-70mm ART is just as you would expect. The image quality is right one par with the competitors but as we will mention again, it has the step up with having image stabilization. We’re sure Canon and Nikon will follow suit in the near future but as it stands right now, Sigma wins the battle. now everything isn’t perfect with this lens but when you this lens rental is in your bag, you’re going to be able to capture such amazing images and not be limited by poor image quality or the lack of a lens that doesn’t perform.
