About the Canon 135 F/2L
When a company get something right, it’s such a beautiful thing! Canon nailed it with the Canon 135 F/2L. This lens has the ultra-sonice motor (USM), it’s tack sharp, it’s not heavy, the bokeh and super dreamy, and it’s just simply one of the best.
The Canon 135 F/2L is one of those lenses that is quick to focus and work very well on any Canon DSLR you pair it with. If there was one thing we would prefer to be different with the Canon 135 F/2L is that in the future Canon takes a giant leap away from the plastic filter threads. No clue why they made such an iconic lens and threw on plastic thread. Silly Canon, just silly.
Another perk of this lens, like with most newer lenses, you can have it set in autofocus and still manually focus just by moving the focusing ring. Some may find that useful while others probably just don’t care one way or another.
Shooting this lens wide open at F/2 promises to delivery a shallow depth of field (DOF). This lens produces a bokeh very similar to the Canon 85 F/1.2L and almost as beautiful as the massive Canon 200 F/2L.
Ask anyone and they will tell you this lens is a dream. It’s one of those lenses that may be slightly too long to own as a prime lens, but it’s definitely worthwhile to try out to see if it works for you.
