Frequently Asked Questions
How Long Will It Take?
All equipment is inspected when it is received. It typically takes up to a week for inspection and possibly up to four weeks for repair depending on parts required. The biggest factor for repairs is obtaining the proper parts to fix your equipment. Its best to plan 1-4 weeks for repairs. Obviously 4 weeks can be due to a major repair or a limited availability of parts. The process of obtaining parts (typically from overseas) has been delayed not only due to COVID, but also do to shipping delays and regulations.
What if I decide not to repair my equipment?
If you decide you do not want to repair your equipment, you will simply tell us so. It’s as simple as that. We won’t do anything further with your equipment and will let you know when it’s available for pickup. Being that we are inspecting your equipment (which may require some disassembly) your gear will not be available right away, especially if we have to send it in to our service center.
Do You Offer A Bulk Discount?
Surely you won’t be breaking equipment in bulk will you? Hopefully not but if so… we can discuss your options.
Nikon Users
As you may be aware, Nikon has taken all outsourced repairs and brought them in-house to their own facilities. Although that sounds like a good idea to Nikon and the end-users, it has been somewhat of a nightmare. Nikon has been struggling to keep up with their new repair demands and their online systems have not been built out as they should be. We have had numerous situations where a customer will come to us for a repair and we deem it best to send off to Nikon to complete the repair. In many different circumstances, Nikon has either failed to properly inform us of the status of repair or they have provided one quote for repair and then doubling that quote once the repair has been completed. To top everything off, their tech support and phone service center is sub-par.
With that all being said, we will still do our best to repair Nikon equipment in-house but being that Nikon will not sell parts any longer, it really limits us to buying used parts. That is obviously a big risk and we don’t prefer that when it comes to certain electronic parts.
If we determine we are unable to repair your Nikon equipment, we will recommend that you ship out your equipment to Nikon and deal with them first hand. We’re sorry that this has come to this situations but we feel Nikon is just failing the end users with repair support.
Pricing
Equipment Inspection – $35
As soon as we receive your form and equipment we will do a quick inspection of your gear. We’ll go through the information you have provided and do what we can to replicate the issues you’re experiencing. As soon as we are able to determine the root cause, we will provide you with an estimate for repair.
The cost of your inspection fee will be applied towards any repairs. If you decide to not repair your equipment, you will simply only be charged the inspection fee amount.
We are more than happy to tell you up front whether or not it is a wise investment to have a piece of camera equipment inspected and/or repaired.
Pickup/Dropoff
Dropping Off & Picking Up
When it comes time to drop off your equipment, you will simply bring it to our office and we will have all of your information on hand. We’ll give you a call when your equipment is ready for pickup and just as you did when you dropped it off you will come pick up your equipment. Please note, you will need to bring a form of ID when picking up your equipment so we can ensure that you are you. If you need someone else to pick up your equipment for you, just simply let us know when you check out or get in touch with us via email or Facebook private messenger.
